I am a Singaporean. I m 46 years old. I enter into the computer industry in 1983 when the 1st IBM XT computer was launched. I had a good friend by the name Henry, he was the one who brought me in to work with him in a Computer Firm. The company manufactured Compatible PC's. I know nuts about PC's at that time, he taught me everything I need to know about PC's manufacturing. I learn how to Assemble PC's, Troubleshooting PC's, performed Hard-Drive & PC's Burn-In test, Installing MS-DOS operating system. I have spend 18 years working in the computer industry. Over this 18 years I have gain knowledge, experience in technical support and training. One of the job which I enjoy doing very much was experimenting new technologies, getting the hands-on apportunity to try on alot of different types of new technologies. During the Y2k period in the year 1999, I got plenty of hands-on working experiences going around a few banks and financial instituition to change hundreds of PC's that do not meet the Y2K standards and requirement. It was very challenging work. I m so glad I was in it. I spend two years teaching in 2 private schools as a PC Trainer. Five years experiences working in the Semi-Conductor industry and this is another very challenging and interesting industry. Where I get the apportunity to travel to U.S to be trained as a Implant Wafer Technology Specialists. The Semi-Conductor industry is interesting becos you get the chance to see how electronic chips are produced. The production process of Wafers or Silicons starts from the Front-End and it ends up at the Back-End. The manufacturing process is very complicated. We have to worked in a Cleanroom Environment which is 1000 percent dust free. We also have to wear jumpsuit , put on boots, rubber gloves and wear a mask. It depends on which manufacturing process you are working on, sometimes you might even have to handle very concentrated acid bases solution to perform certain job which might gives off fumes and also can burned your hands or your fingers. The types of concentrated acids we have to handle sometimes are "Ammonia", "Hydrochloride" acids. When we are given such dangerous tasks to handle, we have to be very careful and we put on rubber gloves, a face protection shield and a apron to work. I m a trained In-Plant Wafer Technology Specialist from Texas Carrollton.
